TracePrep Inc. is a software company. Its first and only workflow produces a Reasonable Compensation Study for an S-corporation shareholder-employee: structured intake, versioned wage evidence, a deterministic calculation, and a Reviewer who controls the conclusion.
Why we built it
A finished compensation number reads the same whether it is right or wrong.
That is the problem this product exists to solve. You cannot check a Study by reading it. You can only check it by inspecting how it was built: the inputs, the wage sources, the transformations applied to them, and the judgments a Preparer wrote down along the way.
So the inspection is built into the workflow rather than left to a folder, a spreadsheet, and somebody remembering.
- Source citation is not a feature
- Every material figure in a Study traces to its source at field level: source, occupation, geography, period, and transformation. The system does not present a number without one.
- The Reviewer signs off
- A qualified Reviewer at the Firm controls the conclusion and the delivery. The audit log records who prepared, who changed what, and who approved.
- The Firm owns the workpapers
- Finalized evidence and workpapers belong to the Firm permanently, and the evidence manifest is immutable.
The honesty is the positioning. TracePrep supports professional judgment. It does not promise an outcome, it does not decide the number for you, and it does not stand in for your Reviewer.

TracePrep is built by Bobby Huang, founder of TracePrep Inc.
He has worked in the accounting profession for more than 18 years.
TracePrep started because reasonable-compensation work was still being done by hand almost everywhere, and the tooling had not caught up.
